Community Bunting Project

This project started in Motspur Park to celebrate the station’s centenary. A group of local residents got together to celebrate this. As a part of that celebration, we decorated the area with re-usable fabric bunting that local people made.

We have booked all of our workshop dates now and you are welcome to drop in (no need to book) on any of the dates given below. All workshops will be from 2-4 pm and are for anyone of age 7 or older. Children will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times

Saturday 14th February 2026 at Raynes Park Library

Friday 20th February at the Stable Block in Morden Hall Park

Textile artist Sarah McAlister is co-ordinating this project alongside Made in Merton, a local grassroots group that promotes the textile heritage of Merton. This project will be taking free community bunting workshops out across the borough and has been fully funded by Merton council.

You don’t need any experience at all, it’s open to everyone over 7 yrs and children will need an adult with them at all times. There is no need to book. Just drop in!
